Agricultural Success Starts with Precision Testing

At Fusion Labs, we believe agriculture should be driven by data, not guesswork. Whether you’re a farmer or feed manufacturer, we help you make smarter decisions, avoid costly setbacks, and maximise performance across the entire agricultural value chain.

Soil Testing

Uncovering the true potential of your land

Healthy soil is the foundation of successful agriculture. Our soil testing provides a complete chemical and biological profile, helping you understand the hidden forces driving your farm’s productivity – or limiting it.

We analyse key macronutrients (like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) and essential trace elements (zinc, manganese, boron, molybdenum) that influence root development, flowering, and yield. We also examine compound ions (e.g., sulphates, nitrates, phosphates) and critical parameters like pH, moisture content, conductivity, and acidity, which determine how nutrients behave and interact in your soil.

We also test organic fertilisers to determine whether they contain the nutrients your soil actually needs, helping farmers avoid the blind application of compost or manure with limited benefit. Based on the results of your soil test, we recommend custom manure blends – such as combining poultry, cow, or goat manure – in the right proportions to replenish specific nutrient gaps and restore soil fertility more effectively.

We also offer molecular analysis of soil – a powerful but often overlooked tool. This allows us to detect pesticide and herbicide residues, fuel spills, synthetic toxins, and other chemical pollutants that may not be visible but are damaging soil health and microbial life.

What many farmers don’t realise is that repeated use of synthetic chemicals doesn’t just target weeds and pests – it disrupts the soil’s natural ecosystem. These residues can kill off beneficial bacteria and fungi, reduce the soil’s ability to hold moisture, and lock up nutrients that crops depend on. Over time, fields become harder to manage, more dependent on chemicals, and less responsive to fertilisers – a cycle that leads to poor harvests and higher costs.

At Fusion Labs, we help farmers break that cycle. Based on your soil’s residue profile, we develop strategies that favour natural pest and weed control options. For example, neem oil – derived from the neem tree – is a proven organic repellent that protects crops from a wide range of pests without harming soil microbes or plant health. These alternatives work in harmony with the land, allowing farmers to restore balance, improve yields, and build a healthier, more resilient farming system.

Drone agriculture mapping

Farm Mapping

At Fusion Labs, we’re taking soil testing into the future. In addition to our robust lab-based analysis, we are introducing drone-assisted farm mapping – a cutting-edge service never before offered at this level in Zambia. Using infrared and multispectral imaging, our drones scan your fields and generate high-resolution maps that reveal variations in plant health, moisture content, and soil conditions across your land.

This real-time visual data highlights zones of concern – such as poor drainage, pest infestation, or nutrient stress – long before they’re visible to the naked eye. When combined with our laboratory insights, it gives you a complete understanding of your farm’s biological, chemical, and environmental profile.

And we don’t stop at diagnostics – Fusion Labs uses AI and data analytics to connect the dots. Our machine learning models continuously learn from the patterns in your soil chemistry, biology, and drone imagery to provide predictive insights. This enables you to forecast nutrient deficiencies, disease outbreaks, or yield reductions before they happen, and make smart, timely interventions across your farm. It’s precision agriculture powered by science and data.

Microbial Regeneration

Restoring the natural power of your soil

Soil microbes – including bacteria, fungi, and actinomycetes – are the unsung heroes of fertility. As they break down organic matter and interact with plant roots, they release key nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and trace elements in bioavailable forms. This natural cycling of nutrients supports vigorous crop growth, nutrient density, and soil structure – without the environmental trade-offs of overreliance on chemical inputs.

Through comprehensive soil analysis, we assess not only nutrient levels but also the population and diversity of beneficial microbes. A single teaspoon of productive soil can contain between one hundred million and one billion bacteria – and yet, this hidden workforce is often overlooked in conventional farming. Where deficiencies of beneficial microbes are found, Fusion Labs develops strategies that are specific to the condition of your soil, to replenish microbial life. These interventions include feeding the soil using humic substances (from compost) and other carbon-rich amendments such as biochar – restoring the biological engine beneath the surface.

In addition to supporting microbial growth, we also test for harmful microbes that reduce soil productivity or increase crop disease, and provide strategies to remove or suppress them. These pathogens silently lower yields and compromise food safety. By identifying both helpful and harmful organisms, we give farmers a complete picture of their soil’s biological health – allowing them to take informed action that builds long-term fertility, reduces losses, and strengthens the resilience of their land.

Animal Feed Testing

Feeding for health and safety

We analyse gross calorific value, moisture content, and pH/acidity, which affect feed quality, digestibility, and storage life. Through elemental analysis, we test for essential minerals like calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, and selenium, all of which are vital for animal health, bone strength, fertility, and immune function.

Beyond the basics, we use molecular analysis to quantify high-value nutrients such as vitamins, proteins, amino acids, fats, and sugars – allowing manufacturers to validate formulation claims and ensure consistent nutrition.

Equally important is our ability to screen for pesticide residues and heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury, and arsenic – which are tightly regulated under international animal feed safety laws. These tests protect your business from reputational and legal consequences, especially in cross-border trade.

We also test for pathogenic organisms like Aspergillus flavus, Fusarium spp., and Salmonella spp., which may produce mycotoxins or trigger widespread contamination events.

Through AI and data analytics, we can track changes in feed quality over time, flag abnormalities, and even recommend ingredient substitutions that maintain quality while reducing cost.
